Always wanted to learn how to cook but found it intimidating? Just moved out and have to learn how to cook your own meals? The Culinary Essentials Series is for you!

This  6 week Hands-On series is designed for the beginner cook who wants to learn
the basics as well as the experienced cook who wants to hone their skills

In each class we cover the basics of cooking techniques, ingredients and
equipment that will help make you a more confident, capable cook.

Gain the confidence as you learn to cook, to try a new recipe or even cook without one.

Judy will thoroughly discuss all the recipes and different techniques involved. We will also focus on knife skills, ingredients, menu planning and equipment.

Makes a terrific gift for the holidays. It’s also a great to meet people. Come to one class or enjoy the whole series.

Week 1: Soups Stocks and Braising
Tuesday Jan 22  6-9pm
Learn the basic stocks that are the foundation of so many recipes for soups and braised dishes.

  • Chicken Stock

  • Green Chili Pork with Hominy and Black Beans

Week 2: Sauces and Sautéing
Tuesday Jan 29   6-9pm
Great sauces make a dish! Explore different techniques for creating different sauces to enhance any meal. Turn an everyday dinner into a restaurant quality one with the addition of a classic sauce.

  • Baked Pasta in a Creamy Cheese Sauce
  • Sautéed Fish and Vegetables with Hollandaise Sauce

 Week 3: Roasting and Baking
Tuesday Feb 5   6-9pm
Learn how to roast a variety of meats, fish and vegetables. Save money and never buy rotisserie chicken again when you see how easy and delicious your own roasted chicken will be.

Week 6: Soufflés and Custards
