Summer Camp! Jr. Chef Competition

Camp runs daily (Monday-Thursday) from 10am to 3pm.
All new menus but with a step up from the earlier Jr. Chef camp. Still with an emphasis on learning techniques while gaining knowledge in plating, garnishes and cooking techniques.
This will be a great opportunity to work on kitchen skills while adding the challenge of competition. Don’t worry -it is all friendly and in groups! We will spend time learning a variety of recipes and types of cooking. We will be working on building self-confidence in the kitchen and their ability to feel comfortable preparing dishes from scratch.
Thursday we will hold our Jr. Chef competition. Put in groups they will be given the task of of getting a meal on the table that they will present to the judges for tasting.
Jr. chefs will learn basics in:
- kitchen safety
- proper food handling
- Where your food comes from!
- food preparation
- How to read and follow recipes
- cooking and baking techniques
- table setting
- Food presentation
- Grace, how to work and support your team
and so much more!
